Tasarım Açıklaması

The main objective of the proposed project for Seoul BIOHUB Global Collaboration Complex is to create a strong publicity structure that can be integrated with the other three buildings within the campus area. In this direction, first of all, the inner vehicle road -starting from the main entrance to the east of the campus and passing through the buildings- was canceled. The main reason of this is to prevent the interruption of the pedestrian flow.

The newly building is located along the southern and western sides of the design area, creating a Main Campus Square integrated with other buildings. This area combines with the existing inner space enclosed by buildings 2 and 3 to form a large internal public square. This public square is formed in two different layers which are located at the elevation of the land and enriched with inner garden. With this arrangement, the pedestrian has uninterrupted access to all buildings. On the other hand, publicity and pedestrian mobility is supported by functions such as coffee lounge, exhibition area, meeting room on two different ground levels.

The motorway was circulated along the southern edge of the area and connected to both the new building base floor parking area and the parking garage to the north of the site.

The main approach to the new building is from the Main Campus Square. The first entrance is at -0.50 floor plan contains meeting rooms and combine with an open foyer and internal gardens with main square. The second entrance is at +3.00 floor plan and the main lobby is located here. Two levels are in visual communication through gallery spaces in the interior of the building and also through inner gardens at the exterior space.

The amphitheater, which connects the two levels, is considered as an element that strengthens the communication and enriches the public square. The semi-open staircase, which continues along the northern façade of the southern block, is both a circulating component and a public architectural element.

The new building consists of two prismatic parts. The southern linear block includes offices for resident companies. The northern block is organized around a central inner space and includes support facilities. At the top level of the northern block, there is a cafe lounge which integrates with the roof garden.

The structure is also positioned with the correct orientation preferences relative to the sun. The FVP on the roof provides support for renewable energy production.
